FOREAL

An intuitive 1 : 1 provision for young people in Devon who will benefit from fluid, bespoke & adaptive support.

Offering enabling, outreach transition & alternative education.

Focused on utilising existing interests as a vehicle for personal development or offering new choices Foreal aims to increase self esteem, build confidence alongside active learning, engaging in life skills & social development whilst looking at strategies to navigate life ahead.

Everything we deliver rotates around building these core needs. It could be inside or out, using a computer, learning to cook or fixing a bike.

The intention is in seeking strong motivators; a starting place to build from. This is at the heart of all of our work.

Our support is underpinned by a low pressure, non-judgemental relationship which offers a stable and consistent platform from where young people can feel safe to explore and navigate the world around them. This in turn offers opportunity to build resilience and diversity.

Our philosophy is strength based. We seek out and focus positives as a continuum of building blocks. Whilst a young person may be learning or improving an existing skill, Foreal facilitates personal development and cross curriculum learning. We champion experiential learning, the use of characterisation referencing, reinforced with analogies relating to real life making learning both relevant and understandable.

Support is tailored to the EHCP or set of desired outcomes from the professional team commissioning Foreal. Our aim is to up-skill each person with the tools that are essential to navigate their current situation. For some of the young people we support, this is more relevant and desirable for them to learn than a formal education in the first instance.
